You will also learn about principles of design to create a good portrait.
In the second part of the class you will learn how to create a "map" of your subject and choose the right colors and values for it. Then you will start to create your art piece. (8"x10")

About the Instructor: Janis Nunez
Almost all Janis's work reflects her Mexican heritage, from the mix of colors to the meaningful representation of the Day of the Dead and the sugar skulls. Her art is influenced by experiences in her life, the desire to transmit her feelings, ideas, her most profound thoughts, and her own self. Mosaic is her medium of choice because she finds it to be the most challenging art form. It allows her to create a whole from an endless number of fragments, combining each fragment with an array of materials through an intuitive and imaginative journey. Mosaic takes her into a constant search for balance and harmony between materials and thoughts, colors and feelings in order to awake the senses of the observer. As a mosaic artist she tries to evolve and grow in her artistic expression trying to bring her mosaic art into the fine art realm.
